Morgan and I and two of our friends attended the Alberta Ballet, the Nutcracker last night. Morgan and I have been at Christmas before so this really is a tradition for us since moving to Calgary. The Nutcracker was beautiful. At the entrance to the first balcony were two ballerinas and Morgan and Sarah got their pictures taken with both of the ballerinas. So for today's photo I chose a candid picture of one of them.

Medusa was my first thought with this photo!

Christmas lights are on the photo hunt list. i have been taking pictures of the Christmas tree for awhile and they never turn out; the light just don't look great. So I looked up how to take pictures of the lights and ch aged the shutter priority and the ISO. It worked! Morgan ended up wrapping Ethan up in lights and then decided to throw a few over her head. This picture has a Morgan holding a green Christmas light in front of her. I really should have used a tripod but overall i was happy with the outcome.

As a tribute to our dashing red aprons this photo helps knock off #15 of the December photo challenge.

Okay, so since I was having a little trouble getting motivated for a picture of the day I've decided to complete this December photo challenge. I'm not going to do it in any order, I'll just keep the list around and see what I can complete. Hope this helps!

Tonight I started out taking pictures of presents under the tree. The lighting at night is difficult to work with though. So I begged Ethan to hold a present for me. He finally agreed and we made a little game out of him hiding his face behind the present and me trying to catch a photo of his face when he moved the present. This shot ended up working really well. The focus is the present (checking off #5 on the December list) and Ethan is in the background. I'm back!

Alright, so another inside picture. I've really been slacking on my "photo a day" but it's tough to get out there when it's soooo cold. And it really is a challenge to take a good photo everyday when you have a job that isn't as a photographer.

Morgan: excited to open her early Christmas present. The only editing I did to this photo was a little cropping.

"local weather". I actually took this photo while I was sitting in traffic on my way home. It's taken through the front windshield of the car so not a bad photo considering.
