Court Side

We headed to the University of Calgary basketball game on Saturday night. The girls were on the court first and sadly lost to Regina. In between the girls and guys game the U of C band played and the Dino's mascott Rex was cruising around. Ethan spent a bit of time dancing with Rex and high fiving!

Congratulations Morgan!

Morgan took home the silver medal on the weekend! This is just a shot of her practice because I wanted to just enjoy her program through both eyes and not my camera lens.

Ballet Class

Tonight was my first ballet class since I was about 6 or 7. I was nervous, but mostly about what I was wearing! But I did take the class so that I could wear girly ballet clothes. So here's a picture of my brand new ballet slippers after their first class. I really enjoyed it and it was a lot of work! Wow!

Really chilly day in Calgary!

So I might as well have dial up inernet! Seriously, it has been so slow that this is the first picture I have been able to upload and it's of my freezer! This is what happens when I wait until the very end of the day.

I zipped over to the Olympic torch relay at COP. It took forever to park and then I was running to catch them lighting the Calgary '88 torch. It was exciting to be there!


Than I caught a glimpse of this guy wearing an '88 Olympic torch relay suit. Good times!

The drive home.

This truly is Morgan's favorite thing to do! A lot of hours are logged on that Mac and many more to come since we just replaced the battery. So I sneakily took this photo and really glad it turned out because it's tough getting a shot of my favorite girl.

Yes, today I turned 32! So when Morgan and I were parking at the max Bell Arena today I couldn't resist getting a picture of this license plate beside me...

Oh Edward...

Twilight has come to Charleswood Drive today. Morgan is having a few friends over tonight and Anna has made Twilight cupcakes for the girls to celebrate Morgan's birthday. These cupcakes are quite amazing!

Morgan got a cupcake decorating cookbook for her birthday so we whipped these up. It actually took 2 days, one to make all those lovely monarchs, and the other for the cupcakes. They're pretty cute!

The Yaris lease is up soon and so maybe I'll go a little more classy this time with my own jet...
Really I took this shot through the fence by the Shell airport. The fence didn't leave too many shot options but the sun was great!

These cream scones were make in my kitchen this morning but the recipes comes from the Fresh Tracks Cafe at the ski hill in Nelson. We added chocolate chips and they were so yummy!

Ethan and Korey built this snowman in the park across from our house. He has chocolate eyes, the traditional nose and a red scarf that I got at a mining conference in Yellowknife.

While they were building the snowman, a woman pulled up, jumped out and snapped a few photos of them building the snowman. Possibly a photo a day blog for her too...

I didn't get around to posting a photo last night. it was the first night of my photography class. I've signed up for a 6 week advanced photography class and I hoped that not having the prereq would be fine. First off, I couldn't find the class and then was paranoid that I would be way behind everyone but it turned out find. I loved it! We covered raw photos and white balance. So we all got an assignment to shot two photo's; one warmer than it should be and one colder than it should be by changing the Kelvin setting. I had no idea about this!! So today i snapped a few shots of the Bow River. I posted two white balance settings of the same shot because I am so excited about this I wanted to show you too! It's going to work best in shots of people where you need to add some "end of a summer day" color.

Morgan since today is your 13th birthday I've chosen a photo of you!

I didn't take this photo today but on the weekend when we were tobogganing. Morgan's not a big fan of being photographed and it's hard to get a picture. It's great to be able to post this fantastic pic today.

Laughter! Tonight Morgan and Ethan were playing with some bubbles and it was great to see them really having a good time with it.

Day at the tobaganning hill. The Hughes' and the Morrison's joined us for a great time at the hill today. We had a few wipe outs but that was mostly from the adults and there were a lot of laughs from all of us.

Here's the Morrison's cat looking like royalty. I got to take a number of photos because pets seem to be quite fine with getting their picture taken.

Morgan went ice-fishing near Caroline, AB and managed to catch 7 fish. While the majority of her haul were released this one was brought home for Ethan to see. Ethan is shown holding him after numerous attempts to revive him in the kitchen sink.
